She also serves as a Volunteer Faculty Member in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Oklahoma . Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Kansas , mentored by Cary Savage, Ph.D., and Douglas Denney, Ph.D. Research Interests: Dr. Aupperle's NeuroCognitive Aspects of Anxiety, Trauma and Treatment (NeuroCATT) Laboratory focuses on translational neuroscience to optimize psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. Her work integrates neuroimaging (fMRI, ERP), behavioral testing, and computational modeling to identify neural and behavioral predictors of treatment response. Current projects include studying cultural protective factors in American Indian populations, neurofeedback-augmented mindfulness training, and mechanisms underlying comorbid anxiety-depression-substance use disorders. Scientific Collaborations: Dr. Aupperle collaborates with researchers across institutions including: Murray Stein, Ph.D. (University of California, San Diego) Amy Jak, Ph.D. (San Diego VA Healthcare System) Michelle Craske, Ph.D. (University of California, Los Angeles) Jim Abelson, M.D., Ph.D. (University of Michigan) Training & Mentorship: Dr. Aupperle co-mentors graduate students in the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program at TU, emphasizing research experience, statistical skills, and diversity.
