Dr. Ilona F. Persoon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Dentistry at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). She holds a PhD in Dentistry (2016) from the University of Amsterdam and a Senior Teaching Qualification (SKO) from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2023). Her research focuses on infection control, sustainable oral healthcare, and endodontic infections. She also practices dentistry in Loosdrecht. Key roles include teaching microbiology courses and contributing to ACTA's three pillars: clinical care, education, and research.
