Dr. Martin Towner is a Research Fellow at Curtin University's School of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS), part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He joined Curtin in 2012 as part of the Desert Fireball Network (DFN) project, which tracks meteoroid trajectories and recovers meteorites. Towner holds a PhD in Solid State Physics from the University of Bristol (1995) and has worked on planetary missions like the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and the Beagle 2 Mars lander. His research focuses on planetary surface processes, meteorite recovery systems, and instrument development for space missions.
