Dr. Lucy Forman is a Research Fellow at Curtin University's School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, affiliated with the Space Science & Technology Centre. She specializes in planetary geology and meteorite analysis, focusing on reconstructing deformation histories of Martian rocks and asteroids. Her work includes analyzing samples from the Desert Fireball Network and investigating asteroid compaction processes. She holds a PhD from Curtin University (2017) and an MSci from Imperial College London. Lucy is an advocate for science communication and has received awards such as the Endeavour Leadership Award (2019) and the Krishna and Pamela Sappal Prize (2017). She teaches planetary science and coordinates the Earth & Planetary Sciences Student Ambassador Scheme.
Research Interests: Martian geology, asteroid deformation, sample return missions, and EBSD analysis of planetary materials. Notable contributions include discovering physical evidence of asteroid compaction and studying impact processes on Mars.
Awards highlight her excellence in research and science communication. She is a member of TIGeR, the Meteoritical Society, and the National Space Society of Australia.
