Ana-Marija Cindrić is a Senior professional associate at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, Croatia, working within the Division for Marine and Environmental Research and specifically the Laboratory for physical chemistry of traces. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Oceanology (2009-2015) and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (2001-2006) from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Zagreb. Her research focuses on trace metal dynamics in estuarine environments, particularly in the Krka River estuary of the Adriatic Sea. She specializes in advanced analytical techniques including Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films (DGT) and voltammetry for speciation and monitoring of trace metals in marine and estuarine waters. Her work examines both natural processes and anthropogenic impacts on water quality, with particular attention to industrial pollution, tourism effects, and the behavior of metals in stratified water systems. Dr. Cindrić's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on environmental chemistry, with recent work expanding to examine microplastics, dissolved organic matter dynamics, and bioaccumulation of trace metals in marine organisms.
