Dr. Ahmad Al Khleifat is a Senior Research Fellow at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Neuroscience and the Department of Basic & Clinical Neuroscience. He holds positions in the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre. His research focuses on complex disease genetics, precision medicine, AI-driven clinical trials, and neurodegenerative biomarkers. Education: MB BCh (Medicine from Misr University), MSc (Neuroscience from IoPPN), PhD (Clinical Neuroscience from King's College London). Research Interests: Big data/AI applications in ALS drug discovery Structural variation analysis in genomics Proteomic biomarkers for neurodegeneration Notable publications include studies on ALS genetics, riluzole efficacy, and telomere biology. He leads initiatives like Project MinE's Trans-Ancestral Genetics working group and chairs Drug Discovery & Trials Optimisation efforts in the DEMON network. Awards: ENCALS Young Investigator Award (2022), MND & ALS Fellowships (2022) Current projects involve collaboration with LifeArc on MND treatments and validation of ALS molecular subtypes as diagnostics. Active in global consortia including Project MinE and the Alan Turing Institute's Precision Dementia Medicine group.
