Dr Claire Stevens is a Medicines Evaluation Scientist at Keele University's Department of Medicines Management within the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy. She joined in 2002 after completing a PhD in Chemistry at Keele. As part of the Keele Centre for Medicines Optimisation (KCMO), she specializes in writing rapid evidence reviews (KINEs), supporting the IMPACT academic detailing service, and aiding NHS client Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) through education, evidence reviews, and prescribing analysis. She also contributes to the OPTUM Scriptswitch Prescribing support service. Her work focuses on optimizing medicines use and antimicrobial stewardship.
Her research interests include hospital pharmacy practices, healthcare policy, and evidence-based prescribing strategies. Dr Stevens collaborates extensively with healthcare institutions and has published in journals like European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy and Antibiotics.
