Josie Carberry is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Monash University's Faculty of Engineering. Her research focuses on fluid dynamics in cardiovascular systems, particularly how hemodynamic forces influence thrombosis, coagulation, and medical device performance. She leads projects involving lab-on-a-chip technologies, computational modeling, and patient-specific flow simulations to improve cardiovascular implant design and disease understanding. Key areas of contribution include development of microfluidic tools for thrombus investigation, optimization of ventricular assist devices (VADs), and ECMO cannula design. She has collaborated on sustainable development goals (SDGs) related to health innovation and personalized medicine.
