Magdalena Zawisza is an Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in Cambridge, UK. She holds roles including Co-Chair of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Athena Swan Committee, Co-Director of ARU’s Centre for Societies and Groups, and Head of the Applied Social Change (ASCh) Research Hub. Her research focuses on gender, consumer psychology, and advertising ethics, with a particular interest in gender stereotypes, cross-cultural dynamics, and the societal impacts of sexism. Education: PhD in Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London; MSc in Psychology from University of Gdańsk, Poland. She has authored a monograph *Advertising, Gender and Society – psychological perspective* (2019) and co-edited *The Routledge International Handbook of Consumer Psychology* (2016). Her work has been featured in *The Independent*, *BBC*, and *Newsweek*, influencing policy changes like the Advertising Standards Authority’s gender guidelines. Research highlights include a 62-nation study on ambivalent sexism and its societal impacts (2025), climate psychology interventions (2024), and body appreciation cross-cultural analysis (2023). She runs the consultancy Insights, advising Fortune 500 companies like Unilever and Qualcomm on ethical advertising. Awards include the *Conversation Contribution Award* (2017) and a best poster award for safety engineering research (2021). Teaching spans modules like *Applied Consumer Psychology* and *Sex, Sexuality and Gender*. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves on editorial boards for *Sex Roles* and *Frontiers Gender, Sex and Sexuality Studies*. Her interdisciplinary grants include Innovate UK funding for net-zero design (2024) and EU funds for SME marketing (2017).
