Elmar Puntaier is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Business Strategy at Coventry University's School of Strategy and Leadership, serving as Course Director for full-time, part-time, and distance-learning MBA programs. He holds a PhD in Management (University of Leicester, 2015), an MBA (University of Leicester, 2010), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (Distinction, Coventry University, 2021). He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an ASPiRE Fellow of the Centre for Business in Society.
His research focuses on entrepreneurial growth strategies, SME performance, and sustainability pathways, particularly board diversity and inclusive leadership. Notable projects include co-creating inclusive leadership practices (2022–2023), mentoring at the University of Bremen (2022), and consultancy with Kizawa & Co., Japan (2021). He has contributed to sustainability-related initiatives like net-zero strategies in e-waste management and stakeholder-based circularity models.
