Dr. Yael Lifshitz is a Senior Lecturer in Property Law at the The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London. Her research focuses on energy governance, property law theory, and environmental law. She actively contributes to global climate law initiatives through affiliations with King’s Climate Research Hub, NYU’s Guarini Center, and the Yeoh Tiong Lay Centre.
Dr. Lifshitz holds a doctorate and master’s from NYU School of Law (as a Vanderbilt Scholar). Before joining King’s, she taught at Columbia University and advised NYU’s Environmental and Energy Law LLM program. Her work bridges legal frameworks with sustainability challenges, addressing energy transitions, climate justice, and natural resource management.

Professional activities include speaking at the American Law and Economics Association, presenting at Harvard/Yale/Michigan law schools, and serving on climate policy advisory panels. Her work frequently appears in top journals like the NYU Law Review, Stanford Environmental Law Journal, and University of Toronto Law Journal.
