Eeva Tawast is a Lecturer at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, affiliated with the Wellbeing Team 3. Her work bridges clinical psychology, developmental psychology, and neuropsychology, focusing on mental health promotion through creative and art-based interventions. She specializes in supporting caregivers, families in need, and individuals with neuropsychiatric challenges. Currently, she serves on the Professional Ethics Committee of the Finnish Psychological Association. Her research emphasizes caregiver well-being, resilience-building through creative activities, and the application of art in therapeutic settings. Notable projects include the New Tunes , Well-being Spaces , and Barrier-Free Childhood initiatives, where she developed arts-based mental health programs. She has authored chapters in edited volumes like Looking for New Melodies (2024) and contributed to peer-reviewed journals and blogs discussing dementia care, music therapy, and caregiver resilience. Eeva collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to design culturally sensitive well-being concepts, such as the Lapinlahden Lähteellä framework. Her work highlights the dual benefits of investing in caregiver mental health, advocating for holistic approaches that integrate art, music, and community support. She actively participates in public outreach through podcasts like Korkeapainetta and maintains the Well-being Activist platform to disseminate practical mental health strategies.
