Professor Ian Mudway is the Visiting Professor of Environmental Health at Gresham College. He also holds a Senior Lecturer position in the School of Public Health at Imperial College London and is affiliated with multiple research units including the MRC Centre for Environment and Health, the MRC & Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma, and NIHR-PHE Health Protection Research Units. Risk Communication : Collaborates with artists and educators to enhance public understanding of environmental pollutants. Research Focus : Investigates air pollution's health impacts and develops toxicity assays for airborne chemical mixtures. Current Studies : Examines early-life pollutant effects on lung and cognitive development in urban children, plus mechanisms of individual susceptibility to pollution. Lectures like Lead: A Toxic Legacy (2024) and Living With the Forever Chemicals (2023) highlight his work on environmental contamination, while upcoming talks in 2025-2026 address war-related exposomes, digital sustainability, and healthcare's ecological footprint. Environmental Policy Advocacy : Urges remediation and regulatory focus on long-term civilian exposures in post-conflict zones.
