Prof. Georg Frerks is a faculty member at Utrecht University's Department of History and Art History, specializing in History of International Relations and International and Political History. He serves as co-chair of the AIDS, Security and Conflict Initiative (ASCI) and chairs the African Studies Center (ASC) Leiden's academic advisory board. His research focuses on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, disaster management, and human security, with regional expertise in Sri Lanka and post-conflict societies.
