Stefano Bifaretti is an Associate Professor in Power Electronics (ING-IND/32) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, affiliated with the Department of Information Engineering. His office and laboratory are located in Building C, ground floor. He teaches Power Electronics as his primary course and leads research in power conversion technologies. His research focuses on: Multilevel power converters Smart Grids and Microgrid infrastructure Grid integration of distributed generation Solid-state transformer design Industrial and traction motor drives Bifaretti's publications demonstrate expertise in advanced control systems for power electronics, with recurring themes in grid synchronization techniques, fault-tolerant motor drives, predictive control for power converters, and renewable energy integration. His work consistently addresses efficiency and stability challenges in modern power systems. He heads the Power Electronics Converters and Drives research group, conducting experiments in the Information Engineering laboratory at Building C.
