Dr. Alan William Dougherty is a Lecturer at the School of Computing and Data Science, University of Hong Kong. He holds an MEng in Electronic Engineering from King’s College London (2013) and a PhD from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2019), where he received the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowship. His professional background includes engineering roles in compiler design for edge AI on FPGAs, autonomous robotic systems, and computer vision applications such as human emotion classification and 3D mesh generation from single images.
