Junqing Jia is an Associate Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at Hamilton College, specializing in Chinese language pedagogy with emphasis on sustainable language learning motivation and curriculum innovation. Since joining the faculty in 2017, she has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, co-edited volumes, and developed pedagogical materials for diverse Chinese learners.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.A. in Chinese Language Pedagogy from The Ohio State University; M.A. and B.A. in Chinese Linguistics from Shanghai Normal University.
Her research focuses on transforming language learning into lifelong self-motivated practice through classroom experiences and digital-age curriculum design. Recent publications include a 2023 advanced textbook on Chinese workplace communication and 2022 edited volume on performed culture methods. She teaches first-year to senior-level Chinese courses, including cross-cultural communication case studies.
