Professor Ali Kashif Bashir serves as Professor of Computer Networks and Cybersecurity at Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Computing and Mathematics within the Faculty of Science and Technology. He leads the Future Networks lab and maintains 7 honorary and adjunct professor positions globally. His extensive academic service includes membership on the Council of Professors and Heads of Computing (CPHC) in the UK and serving as an expert reviewer for multiple international research councils including EPSRC (UK), Irish Research Council, and NSERC (Canada). He has presented over 45 keynote speeches at international conferences and published more than 300 research articles in high-impact journals and conferences. His publication record demonstrates a strong focus on emerging security challenges in the Internet of Things ecosystem, particularly drone networks and software-defined networking environments. His recent work shows a trend toward integrating deep learning techniques with traditional security protocols to address sophisticated cyber threats in evolving network architectures.
