Marília Sofia Ferreira Durão is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Hospitality Management Degree at Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique (UPT), Portugal. She holds a PhD in Tourism (2021), a Master’s in Tourism Planning and Management from the University of Aveiro (2009), and a Bachelor’s in Tourism from ISAG (2007). Her research focuses on human resources management, gender equality, sustainable tourism, and education in tourism. She leads projects on EU capacity-building and strategic partnerships with institutions in Europe and Asia. Education: PhD in Tourism (2021), Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Her articles span topics like digital transformation in hospitality, gender wage gaps, and experiential learning in cultural industries. She emphasizes the role of qualitative methods, such as bibliometric analysis and Scrum methodologies, in advancing tourism research and education. Marília has been involved in grants and EU projects focused on strategic partnerships and capacity-building. Her work highlights the intersection of gender equality, workforce development, and sustainable practices in tourism.
