Colette Southam is an Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the Centre for Experiential Learning at Bond University (Australia), as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada. She specializes in international and corporate finance, with a focus on ESG, sustainability, capital raising, and real-options valuation for carbon sequestration. Her interdisciplinary research bridges finance, environmental science, and economics. Previously, she worked as a molecular geneticist at the Ontario Veterinary College, contributing to food pathogen detection research. Dr. Southam holds a PhD from Ivey Business School, Western University, and has taught finance using the case method for over two decades. She has received numerous awards, including the Universities Australia Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (2021), multiple Bond University teaching excellence awards, and Ivey Publishing honors for case writing. Her leadership roles include directing the Australian Business Case Network and teaching at Bond University, Ivey, and One League. Her research emphasizes sustainability integration into corporate finance, with notable projects on carbon-neutral mines and mineral carbonation economics. She collaborates with industry to align scientific insights with financial strategies, reflecting her dual background in science and business.
