Professor Derya Tanriverdi is a distinguished academic in psychiatric nursing at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. She currently holds the position of Professor specializing in Psychiatry Nursing, with a career spanning over two decades in mental health research and education. Education: Doctorate in Psychiatry Nursing (2004-2008) from Atatürk University, Institute of Health Sciences Master's in Psychiatry Nursing with Thesis (2001-2004) from Atatürk University, Institute of Health Sciences Bachelor's in Nursing (1997-2001) from Atatürk University, Nursing School Professor Tanriverdi's research spans critical areas in psychiatric nursing and mental health, with primary focus on depression, suicide risk assessment, post-traumatic growth phenomena, and metacognitive approaches in psychiatric care. Her work extensively examines how psychological resilience, mindfulness, and emotion regulation impact mental health outcomes across diverse patient populations. She has pioneered studies on the relationship between spiritual well-being and suicide risk among depressed patients, contributing valuable clinical insights to psychiatric nursing practice. Her research portfolio also addresses specialized areas including mental health in hemodialysis patients, telehealth applications for breast cancer patients, and cultural aspects of mental healthcare delivery.
