Dr. Red Chidgey is a Senior Lecturer in Gender and Media at King’s College London’s Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries, within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. They hold a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and specialize in activist-informed research at the intersection of gender studies, media/cultural studies, and memory studies. Their work examines feminist media production, protest memory curation, and rapid-response collecting in the GLAM sector. Key publications include Feminist Afterlives (2018) and Museums, Archives and Protest Memory (2024, co-authored). Chidgey actively engages in public lectures at institutions like the Barbican and Tate Modern, and collaborates globally on projects such as the FRAGEN European memory initiative and the AHRC-funded Afterlives of Protest network.
