Elaine Chapman is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Education, The University of Western Australia. Her expertise spans educational measurement, statistics, research methods, and the social psychology of education. She holds a PhD in psychology and has taught in multiple universities across child and educational psychology, assessment, and quantitative research design over 20 years. Her research focuses on enhancing children’s affective development through evidence-based interventions and addressing mental health challenges among students, particularly international populations. Education: BSc (Psychology, First Class Honours), PhD (Psychology) Key Research Areas: Mental health in education, employability measurement in engineering, cross-cultural student well-being, and intercultural competence Dr. Chapman has secured six grants including projects on wearable technology for mental health monitoring and reducing self-harm in youth. She has been recognized with awards for supervision and mentorship. Her work aligns with UN SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). She actively contributes to educational policy through advisory roles and international conferences. Recent Awards: Vice-Chancellor's Award for HDR Supervision (2024), Research Mentorship Award (2022) Her advising spans numerous doctoral and master’s students in child psychology and educational interventions. She leads projects on inclusive pedagogies and generative AI in assessments, collaborating with institutions globally.
