Jeongeun Shin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Sejong University, where she has been serving since March 2019. Prior to her academic career, she held significant positions in public administration including Senior Deputy Director at the Korea Fair Trade Commission (2002-2019), International Consultant at the Asian Development Bank (2012), and Deputy Director at the Korea Intellectual Property Office (2000-2002). Dr. Shin received her educational foundation from prestigious institutions: Ph.D. from Syracuse University (2011) M.A. from Syracuse University (2009) B.A. from Ewha Womans University (2000) Her research focuses on critical areas at the intersection of economics, law, and public policy. Dr. Shin's work examines international trade dynamics, labor market outcomes, firms' productivity, and regulatory reform. Her research has evolved from traditional trade-labor nexus studies to contemporary issues in digital platform regulation and competition policy. She has made significant contributions to understanding how trade policies affect labor demand elasticities at the firm level in Korea and how trade openness influences wage shares in national output. Dr. Shin's scholarly work demonstrates a clear trajectory from traditional trade and labor economics toward contemporary competition policy issues in the digital economy. Her recent publications focus extensively on platform regulation, merger control in digital markets, and the implications of international competition authorities' decisions on domestic regulatory frameworks.
