Prof Lis Neubeck is a Professor of Cardiovascular Health at Edinburgh Napier University's School of Health and Social Care, leading the Centre for Cardiovascular Health Research. She also serves as NHS Scotland Cardiovascular Clinical Network Lead and holds adjunct roles at the University of Sydney and Flinders University. Her research focuses on innovative solutions for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation management, and digital health technologies. She has secured over £5M in research funding and received prestigious awards, including Scotland Nurse of the Year 2024 and the Cardiac Society of Australia Nursing Prize (2013). Prof Neubeck has supervised 9 completed PhD students and currently guides 6 active PhD candidates. She has held leadership roles in global cardiovascular organizations, including Past President of the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association and immediate Past President of the European Society of Cardiology's ACNAP. Her academic roles include editorial board memberships for journals like European Heart Journal Digital Health and European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing . She actively participates in advisory committees, such as the Scottish Cardiac Society Executive and NHS Research Scotland Heart Engagement initiatives. Her work emphasizes co-design approaches in digital health interventions, as seen in projects like INTERCEPT and MyHeartMate mobile apps. Prof Neubeck’s research spans topics like SCAD recovery, syncope management, and physical activity policy implementation. She has published over 270 articles, with recent highlights including studies on patient experiences post-SCAD, usability of ambulatory monitoring, and digital health’s role in cardiac rehabilitation. Her contributions bridge clinical practice, policy, and patient-centered innovation in cardiovascular care.
