Dr. Nicolas Hart is a Senior Research Fellow at Edith Cowan University's Exercise Medicine Research Institute (EMRI), affiliated with the School of Medical and Health Sciences. He holds adjunct roles at the Australian Centre for Research into Injury in Sport and its Prevention (ACRISP) and University of Notre Dame Australia. His research focuses on exercise oncology, particularly the impact of exercise on tumor biology and bone metastases in advanced cancers. He leads major clinical trials including the Movember Foundation's INTERVAL-MCRPC and TrueNTH Australia initiatives.
Dr. Hart earned his PhD from Edith Cowan University (2015) following master's (2012) and bachelor's (2009) degrees in sport science. His awards include WA Young Tall Poppy of the Year (2017) and Exercise Scientist of the Year (2014). He serves on editorial boards for BMC Cancer and Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, and chairs international committees like the Bone Metastases and Exercise Working Group (BMEWG).
His research spans over 100 peer-reviewed articles (2014–2025), emphasizing exercise as medicine in oncology, bone health interventions, and sports injury prevention. Collaborations include elite Australian sports teams (West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers) and global organizations like the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
