Senem Kursun is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Istanbul Technical University. Her research focuses on e-textiles, wearable sensors, and smart fabrics, with applications in healthcare, robotics, and environmental monitoring. She leads projects on flexible sensors for agricultural and biomedical uses, RFID-enabled wearables, and textile-based transmission systems. Key research interests include conductive yarn integration, sensor durability under washing, and AI-driven sensor modeling. Awards include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and multiple İTÜ Academic Performance Awards. Projects: 5 active/granted projects on e-textile sensors, RFID systems, and robotic integration Awards: 12 honors including international textile innovation awards Publications emphasize sensor development (e.g., humidity/wetness detection, temperature stability) and interdisciplinary applications in medicine, agriculture, and textiles. Grants include TÜBİTAK and BAP-funded initiatives.
