Zsolt Ugray is an Associate Professor and Graduate Director in the Data Analytics and Information Systems Department at Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest. Dr. Ugray teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in analytics, MIS, and data modeling across multiple programs including MBA, MMIS, and MDATA, utilizing face-to-face, broadcast, and online formats. His research focuses on developing prescriptive analytics algorithms and examining the managerial implications of analytics adoption. Key areas include e-commerce, optimization heuristics, networks, and decision support systems. Dr. Ugray has published extensively in journals such as INFORMS Journal on Computing, Optimization Methods and Software, and Journal of Information Technology Cases and Applications. He has received numerous awards including the 2024 Outstanding Graduate Mentor of the Year, 2021 Faculty University Service Award, and multiple teaching excellence recognitions. As Graduate Director, he oversees academic programs, curriculum development, and student mentoring, while actively serving on university committees including Promotion and Tenure.
