Temple Stoellinger is an Associate Professor and Wyoming Excellence Chair at the University of Wyoming, with dual appointments in the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources and the College of Law. They serve as Associate Dean of the Haub School, Co-Director of the Gina Guy Center for Land and Water Law, and JD/MA Program Coordinator. Their research focuses on wildlife law, public lands management, energy development, and biodiversity conservation, particularly in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and American West.
Educated at the University of Wyoming, Stoellinger holds a JD (2010) and BS (2004), both with Honors. Prior to academia, they advised Wyoming's Governor, worked as legal counsel at Shell International, and served as natural resource counsel for the Wyoming County Commissioners Association.
Research interests include integrating law, economics, and ecology to address wildlife conservation challenges. Current roles include Trustee at the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (FNREL), co-chair of the ABA SEER Biodiversity Committee, and Senior Fellow at the Property and Environmental Research Center (PERC).
Teaching includes courses on Wildlife Law, Public Land Law, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Recent publications emphasize cross-border conservation strategies, migratory species protection, and innovative policy frameworks for sustainable resource management.
Awards and recognitions include the Wyoming Excellence Chair title, reflecting their leadership in environmental and legal scholarship. They actively engage with interdisciplinary teams to address complex natural resource challenges through both academic and applied approaches.
