He holds joint appointments in Cell Biology, Neurobiology, and Anatomy. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and fibrotic ocular conditions. He leads the NIH/NEI-funded Ocular Immunology & Angiogenesis Lab, advancing precision medicine and nanomedicine approaches. Education: PhD in Life Sciences (Devi Ahilya University), MSc and BSc in Biochemistry (Nagpur University). Postdoctoral training at Emory University and Singapore Eye Research Institute. Previous academic roles include positions at the Cleveland Clinic and University of Missouri. Research interests span ocular immunology, angiogenesis, and translational therapies. His lab explores biomarkers, VEGF-independent therapeutics, and countermeasures for chemical threats. Notable achievements include over 100 peer-reviewed publications and prestigious awards like the Electron Microscopy Excellence Award (2017-2020).
