Jürgen Holleck is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (General Medicine) at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the West Haven Veterans Affairs (VACT) Healthcare System. He serves as Site Director for the Yale PA Student Internal Medicine clerkship at VACT and Co-chair of the Program Evaluation Committee for the Yale Internal Medicine Residency Program. His academic roles include teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents, clinical duties as an academic hospitalist, and leadership in quality improvement initiatives.
Dr. Holleck holds an MD from University of Massachusetts Medical School (1999) and a BA in Physics with a Chemistry minor from Oberlin College (1994). His research focuses on optimizing antibiotic stewardship, improving patient safety through clinical workflow redesign, addressing gender disparities in academic promotion, and enhancing post-discharge outcomes via electronic health record integration.
His recent work includes systematic reviews on sepsis management, antibiotic efficacy, and potassium binder safety. Awards include the Asghar Rastegar Teacher of the Year Award (2024, 2021) and recognition for patient safety contributions. He actively participates in committees such as the Patient Safety Committee at VACT and mentors residents through Yale’s Mentor-Advisor-Coach Program.
