Professor Yoshihiro Ishikura is affiliated with Waseda University's Faculty of Science and Engineering, focusing on socio-cultural studies. He holds a master's degree from the University of Tokyo (1996) and has conducted extensive research on regional migration, post-disaster reconstruction, and information society theory. 1996: Master's in Advanced Social and International Studies, University of Tokyo 1999: Doctoral studies in Advanced Social and International Studies, University of Tokyo His research spans regional mobility patterns , lifecourse sociology , and urban sociology , with a particular emphasis on longitudinal studies of earthquake-affected communities like Kamaishi. His work explores how economic factors and generational dynamics shape housing reconstruction decisions. Recent publications focus on post-disaster community transformation (2022), housing reconstruction strategies (2018), and regional migration drivers (2015).
