Aleksandra Krstikj is a full-time Research Professor at the School of Architecture, Art and Design of Monterrey Institute of Technology, State of Mexico Campus. She has been with the institution since August 2014, initially teaching in the Department of Architecture at the CCM campus before becoming a full-time research professor at the EAAD in July 2018.

Dr. Krstikj's research focuses on urban conservation of historic centers, sustainable land use in metropolitan peripheries, and spatial equity of urban goods and services with special emphasis on emerging regions. Her work bridges theoretical urban studies with practical planning applications, particularly in Asian and Latin American contexts. She has developed a distinctive research approach combining spatial analysis with socio-economic considerations in urban development.
Her publication record demonstrates consistent focus on urban expansion control, special economic zones, and post-pandemic urban recovery. The research shows strong international collaboration patterns, particularly with institutions in Japan, China, and the United States, reflecting a global perspective on urban development challenges.
