D'Arcy Meyer-Dombard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on geomicrobiology, astrobiology, and microbial ecology, particularly in extreme environments such as hydrothermal systems, serpentinizing springs, and subsurface biospheres. She leads the EDGElab (Ecosystem Dynamics in Geochemical Environments), which investigates microbial interactions with geochemical environments and their implications for early Earth and extraterrestrial life.
