Emine Zehra Akgün is an Assistant Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Department of Marketing and Operations, Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. She holds a PhD from the Transport Research Institute at Edinburgh Napier University (2021). Her research focuses on urban freight transportation strategies, servitization models in road freight, and decarbonization aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals. She advises PhD students on topics like urban freight and transport decarbonization. Her expertise spans public policy analysis for urban mobility, with emphasis on smart city projects and public-sector challenges. She has contributed to international reports on post-pandemic urban sustainability and comparative studies of freight policies in Scotland and Sweden. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical policy implementation, emphasizing institutional and stakeholder dynamics. Recent research trends include gender mainstreaming in logistics, resilience in humanitarian supply chains, and the role of urban consolidation centers in reducing emissions.
