Dr. Gregory Bauer is a Professor at the University of Guelph's Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. Previously, he served as the Michael J. Barclay Alumni Professor and former Associate Dean at the Simon Business School, University of Rochester, where he oversaw full-time MBA and MS programs. He designed the Simon Integrated Student Experience and contributed to the STEM MBA program's rise to #29 in the Bloomberg Businessweek rankings. He has also held roles as Senior Research Director at the Bank of Canada, focusing on monetary policy, financial stability, and global financial cycles. His education includes a PhD in Finance from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), a CFA designation, an MA in Economics from Queen's University, and a BA in Applied Economics from the University of Waterloo. His research explores monetary policy, financial stability risks, international finance, and Bayesian econometric methods. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Economic Studies . Bauer has received multiple teaching awards, including five Superior Teaching Awards from Simon MBA, and his work has influenced Canadian monetary policy. His research on house price corrections, central bank policies, and financial market limitations has been widely cited in policy debates, including the Bank of Canada's inflation-targeting agreements. He has authored professional publications on topics such as global risk premiums, international equity flows, and market efficiency. His contributions span academia, policy, and education, emphasizing STEM integration in business programs and executive education in international finance.
