Dianne Eden is an Adjunct Associate Professor at QUT's School of Creative Arts within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. She specializes in actor training, voice, and text instruction, particularly in Shakespearean performance. Her roles include Senior Lecturer for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) and Producer of QUT's stage and film productions. Education: BA from the University of Queensland. Postgraduate studies with notable mentors including Fran Bennett (California Institute of Arts), Patsy Rodenburg (Guild Hall, London), and Cicely Berry (Royal Shakespeare Company). She is a Master Text Teacher with Shakespeare & Company (USA) and a member of the Australian Voice Association and Voice and Speech Trainers' Association (VASTA). Research and Professional Activities: Focuses on curriculum design for actor training, emphasizing voice, movement, and textual analysis. Recently presented a paper on QUT's actor training curriculum at the VASTA Conference in New York. Active in corporate training for senior management and has a background as a professional actor with Queensland Theatre Company and La Boite Theatre. Teaching and Leadership: Former Head of Acting at QUT (1994–2007), guest faculty at Shakespeare & Company since 1985, and visiting lecturer at institutions like NIDA, CalArts, and UCLA. Engaged in directing Shakespearean works and maintains a dual focus on academic and practical theater training.
