Carolyn Daniels serves as an Assistant Professor at Barry University, specializing in trauma- and grief-informed clinical practice. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Thanatologist, she integrates end-of-life studies and grief counseling into trauma-focused education while holding a PhD and MSW from Barry University and a BS in Community Services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her educational background includes: PhD, Barry University MSW, Barry University BS in Community Services (Minor: Sociology), Indiana University of Pennsylvania Dr. Daniels' research centers on disenfranchised grief, vicarious trauma, and expressive arts interventions. She develops person-centered clinical approaches for domestic violence survivors and bereavement counseling, emphasizing nervous system regulation and burnout prevention through self-care workshops. Her pedagogy utilizes experiential group learning to address trauma-grief co-occurrence while maintaining professional boundaries in educational settings. Recent scholarship examines expressive arts in social work education, online group dynamics in academic programs, and school-based trauma-informed systems. These works demonstrate consistent focus on integrating creative modalities across clinical, educational, and community contexts to foster resilience through collective reflection and nervous system regulation techniques.
