Lance Hunter is a Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Texas Tech University (2011), an MSW from the University of Georgia (2004), and additional graduate degrees in Political Science and Social Work. His research focuses on terrorism studies, cybersecurity, and political violence, with notable work on terrorism's impact on electoral behavior, cyberconflict dynamics, and the intersection of technology and global security. Current projects explore AI's military applications, social media radicalization, and Chinese foreign investment implications. Service contributions include leadership in Augusta University's Cyber Center advisory groups, participation in promotion and tenure committees, and organizing events like the Presidential Primaries Super Tuesday. His teaching spans topics like counterintelligence, hybrid warfare, and emergency management, reflecting his expertise in national and international security challenges.
