Dr. Jamison Walker is an Associate Professor of Voice and Voice Area Coordinator at James Madison University's School of Music. He is a versatile vocalist with a commanding range, specializing in opera, oratorio, musical theater, and pops performances. His repertoire includes roles such as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème, Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Canio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. He has performed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, showcasing works like Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, and Erik Esenvalds’ The Passion according to Luke (North American premiere).
Before his academic career, Walker served as a Counterintelligence Agent and soloist in the U.S. Army Bands, performing at the Signal Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon. This dual background in military service and classical music enriches his artistic and pedagogical approaches.
