Tom Crawford is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, specializing in national security and counterintelligence. He retired after 23 years as a special agent with the FBI, serving in the Kansas City Division. His FBI career included roles on the Joint Terrorism Task Force (2002–2011) and the counterintelligence program (2012–2018). He successfully prosecuted international terrorism and counterintelligence cases, and provided national security training to agencies globally, including Interpol and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

He has lectured extensively on national security issues for over 15 years, combining his legal expertise with field experience to inform academic and professional audiences.
