Michaela Maria Aigner serves as a Lecturer specializing in Applied Piano Skills and Score Reading at the Department of Composition & Music Theory, Mozarteum University. Her career spans over three decades of teaching and performance. Her research and artistic focus centers on Early Music and Historical Organ Performance , with deep expertise in French organ repertoire, JS Bach, and basso continuo techniques. She actively explores improvisation and score reading within historical contexts, particularly through performance on period instruments like the Egedacher organ (c. 1700). Awards: Honorable Mention Award from the Ministry of Science (1983) Work Grant for Studies at the Conservatoire in Strasbourg (1986/87) Aigner maintains an active performance career as soloist and ensemble partner, with significant contributions to church music through her long-standing role as organist at Salzburg's Franciscan Church since 1999. Her pedagogical work extends to organ instruction at the Diocesan Conservatory in Linz since 2001.
