Nicolai Nybro Hansen is a Research Assistant at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Aalborg University. He is affiliated with the Center for Development of Citizen-Inclusive Employment Interventions (CUBB) and the WISER research group, focusing on ethnographic studies of marginalized youth within the Danish employment system. Master of Sociology, University of Copenhagen (2024) Exchange Studies, Sciences Po (2020) His research lies at the intersection of youth sociology, welfare state dynamics, cultural sociology, and the interplay between social theory and qualitative methodology. He investigates collective system meetings, poverty, and innovative welfare practices, particularly how motivation is constructed in job center interactions with disadvantaged youth. His recent publications and projects reflect a strong focus on ethnographic fieldwork, welfare innovation, and citizen-inclusive interventions. Themes across his work include social exclusion, institutional practices, and the lived experiences of vulnerable populations in public service systems. Nicolai actively contributes to academic and public discourse through conference participation and public lectures on employment interventions and motivational practices in social services.
