John Arabolos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art & Design within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New Haven. A dedicated educator and professional designer, he has been nominated by his students 8 times for 'Who's Who in Teaching' and 3 times for excellence in teaching at the University. His research interests span Interior Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Art Theory, and Design Innovation. Arabolos has developed a unique approach to art creation through his patented graphic algorithmic process that generates 'Chaotic' patterns, blending mathematical precision with artistic expression. His scholarly work primarily focuses on interior design, kitchen and bath design, and architectural spaces, with publications spanning from the early 1990s through the 2000s. His design philosophy emphasizes functional beauty and innovative approaches to spatial organization. Ruth Chaney Goodwin Award Pratt Fellowship Ford Foundation Grant Pratt Studio Scholar Multiple design excellence awards including Gold and Silver awards As an active practitioner, Arabolos founded Element Design Group and Arabolos Design Associates, serving as Principal and Creative Director. He is currently President of the Connecticut Coalition of Interior Designers (CCID) and maintains professional registration as an Interior Designer in Connecticut. His artistic work has been exhibited locally and regionally, complementing his academic and professional design career.
