Jessica Duby, MD, MPH, FRCPC, FAAP, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Associate Investigator at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC). She practices clinically in the Division of Neonatology, MUHC, and is affiliated with the Child Health and Human Development Program and the Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation at the RI-MUHC.
Her scholarly focus lies in improving health-care delivery for sick and small newborns in resource-limited settings. She investigates how parent-led and lay-health-worker initiatives can complement professional care, aiming to enhance both community-based and hospital-based neonatal services for underserved populations.
Recent publications demonstrate a consistent theme: rigorous evaluation of scalable interventions in low-resource environments. Studies span feasibility of family-integrated care in Uganda, decades-long home-based sepsis management in rural India, systematic assessment of parental participation across low- and middle-income countries, and cluster-randomised trials of neonatal care kits in Pakistan.
