Marc Beltempo, MD, M.Sc., FRCPC is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. He serves as a Scientist at the RI-MUHC (McGill University Health Centre Research Institute) under the Child Health and Human Development Program. His research focuses on evaluating how healthcare delivery models, team composition, and resource allocation in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) affect outcomes for preterm infants. He collaborates with national and international networks such as the Canadian Neonatal Network (CNN), Evidence-based Practice for Improving Quality (EPIQ), and Canadian Neonatal Follow-Up Network (CNFUN).
His work utilizes clinical and administrative databases to analyze practice variations and quality improvement in NICUs, aiming to enhance care efficiency and reduce mortality/morbidity in preterm infants. Key research areas include neonatology, prematurity, health outcomes research, and quality improvement in healthcare services.
