Vittorio Camarchia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) at Politecnico di Torino, where he also serves as a member of the Photonext Interdepartmental Center on Applied Photonics. His academic career spans multiple roles including teaching in PhD programs, undergraduate and master's courses across various engineering disciplines, and significant research contributions in microwave electronics. His primary research interests focus on Doherty amplifiers, monolithic microwave integrated circuits, and power amplifiers. Dr. Camarchia's work centers on microwave circuit and system design, characterization and modeling of microwave devices and circuits, linearity-aware design of multi-stage integrated power amplifiers, and load variation tolerant hybrid and integrated power amplifiers. He leads the Microwave and Optoelectronics Group (MOG) within the DET department. His recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate strong expertise in Gallium Nitride technology, Doherty amplifier architectures, and applications for 5G and satellite communications. The research shows consistent innovation in power amplifier design with emphasis on efficiency, linearity, and bandwidth enhancement across various frequency bands. GAAS PhD Student Fellowship (2002) Guest Editor, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES (2020) Associate Editor, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES (2020-2022) Associate Editor, IEEE ACCESS (2018-2025) Dr. Camarchia actively supervises PhD students including Giulia Bartolotti (working on design methodologies for efficient, linear multi-stage power amplifiers) and Zhifan Zhang (focusing on high-efficiency power amplifiers for deep back-off with broadband operation). He has secured significant research funding including a Huawei Technologies research contract (2021-2024) for wideband high-efficiency Doherty power amplifiers and has served as an evaluator for European Commission research programs including H2020 calls related to satellite communication technologies. His laboratory work focuses on the Microwave and Optoelectronics Group, with research projects spanning commercial applications, European Space Agency collaborations (GANDALF project 2018-2020), and consulting work in electromagnetic field analysis.
