Ross Bradstock is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Wollongong (UOW), where he has held roles in the undefined department. He served as Director of the Centre for Environmental Risk Management of Bushfires and the NSW Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub. His research focuses on environmental management, climate change impacts, and wildfire dynamics, with funding from organizations like the NSW Government, ARC, and the European Union. Bradstock has supervised over 14 higher-degree research students, covering topics such as fire regimes, climate adaptation, and ecological responses to fire. His work integrates field studies, remote sensing, and modeling to address global challenges in fire management and biodiversity conservation. Bradstock’s research interests span wildfire behavior, fire ecology, and the socio-ecological implications of climate change. He has contributed to projects like the FUME initiative, examining fire dynamics across Europe and Australia. His grants include major funding for studies on fire risk modeling, carbon sequestration, and fire-vegetation interactions. Collaborations with international institutions underscore his global influence in environmental science. Publications highlight his expertise in fuel dynamics, fire severity proxies, and climate-fire linkages. His work bridges academic research with practical applications, informing policy and management strategies for fire-prone ecosystems.
