Nicolas Maranzana is an Associate Professor at Arts et Métiers National Institute of Technology , affiliated with the Laboratory of Product and Innovation Design (LCPI, EA3927) . He earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Strasbourg (2009) and an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from University Grenoble Alpes (2020). PhD: Industrial Engineering, University of Strasbourg (2009) HDR: University Grenoble Alpes (2020) His research focuses on Engineering Design , particularly in collaborative design , Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) , bio-inspired design , biomimetics , and innovation management . He has developed frameworks for interdisciplinary biomimetic teams and PLM software integration in education, with recent work on AI applications in biomimetic packaging innovation (2025) and circular economy strategies for the pharmaceutical sector (2024). His publications highlight trends in digital transformation , eco-design , and creativity enhancement , often through serious games and risk analysis tools . He serves as pedagogical manager for two Master's programs: Manager de la Qualité and Manager de l'Innovation et du Développement d'Activité . Nicolas Maranzana's work bridges academic research with industry applications , focusing on tools to improve design processes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and pharmaceutical R&D . He actively participates in the Design Society and is an elected member of the IFIP WG5.1 France community.
