Zhi Lin is a Professor of Painting + Drawing at the University of Washington, affiliated with the School of Art + Art History + Design. His work spans Drawing, Painting, and Installation art, with exhibitions featured globally, including the Princeton University Art Museum and MoMA. Lin holds an MFA from the University of Delaware (1992) and Slade School of Fine Art (1989), alongside postgraduate studies and a BFA from the China Academy of Art.
His research explores cultural and historical narratives, evident in exhibitions like Tahoe: A Visual History (2015) and contributions to projects reclaiming Chinese railroad workers’ histories (2019). Awards include NEA Fellowships and Creative Capital grants. Lin also serves as Affiliated Faculty at the Jackson School of International Studies since 2001.
